If you're hitting the gym regularly, do you need protein powder to bulk up? Nutritionist Bridget Mahoney says that while protein itself is essential, you don't need to get it from expensive powders. Protein powder is one way to get protein in your diet, but you can also get it from whole foods such as nuts, lean cuts of beef and poultry, fish, eggs, and cheese.
